From a single donation in Australia in 2004, to the long-term strategic investments around the world today, the Goodman Foundation has been focused on addressing disadvantage and making a tangible difference in our communities. The philanthropic arm of Goodman Group has now taken another step in its evolution with Kris Ashpole succeeding Jo Cameron as CEO, and two new Board appointments.

With extensive experience in the community development, public health and corporate communications arenas, Kris comes to lead the Goodman Foundation from Johnson & Johnson, where she was Head of Global Community Impact for Australia and New Zealand. Over the course of her career, Kris has worked with Federal and State governments, the not-for-profit and business sectors. Kris is passionate about creating positive social impact, addressing some of the world’s biggest challenges, and working collaboratively to multiply impact and achieve sustainable change.

She has a Masters of Public Health, is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and is undertaking a Masters in Social Science, International Development. Kris also contributes to the wider social impact space, sitting on a number of boards and committees.

Commenting on Jo’s retirement and Kris’ appointment, Ray Kellerman, Independent Chairman of the Goodman Foundation said, “Jo leaves behind an impressive legacy with the Goodman Foundation. She has grown and nurtured the Foundation, taking a genuine partnership approach with the organisations we work with, mentoring and guiding them to grow and make a tangible difference to the lives of so many people. We thank Jo for her service and wish her all the best in her retirement.”

“The platform has been set for Kris to take the Foundation to the next phase of growth. We’re passionate about tackling the opportunities to address disadvantage and transform people’s lives, and believe that Kris’ experience and expertise, will help us make an even bigger social impact, said Ray.”

Acknowledging the growing remit of the Goodman Foundation, the Board is also expanding. Goodman Group’s General Manager of Marketing and Communications Alison Brink has been appointed to the Board, alongside Goodman Group Executive John Dakin in New Zealand.

“The Foundation’s social investment is increasing and we need the Board to reflect the diverse skills and experience required to support Kris and her team in the Foundation’s growth. We welcome Kris, Alison and John to the leadership team of the Foundation, and look forward to contributing our collective skills and resources to make a lasting difference in the years to come,” concluded Ray.
