The Hut Group expands its European footprint with Goodman's new 62,000 sqm logistics and production facility in Poland

Wednesday, 28 February 2018

Goodman Group, a leading global owner, developer and manager of logistics and warehousing space, will deliver a 61,800 sqm production and logistics centre at Goodman Wrocław V Logistics Centre for The Hut Group, one of the world’s largest online Beauty & Wellbeing businesses.

The new facility will be The Hut Group’s first project in Poland and, whilst it has sold and distributed products to continental Europe for a number of years, this development marks its broader entry into the region. The property will be multi-purpose, housing both production and logistics operations as well as 3,500 sqm of integrated office space. It will be located in close proximity to Wrocław, on the S8 expressway, and will provide easy access to major metropolitan areas in Poland, Germany and the Czech Republic, allowing for seamless transport of The Hut Group’s products to consumers across the CEE region.

Matthew Moulding, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of The Hut Group, said, “The Hut Group’s new facility in Europe will offer us faster, more efficient access to almost 300 million online shoppers.

“We chose Wrocław as the location for our new facility for a number of reasons: the city’s excellent road infrastructure and flight connections with the UK, its proximity to the crucial German and Central European customer base, as well as the excellent pool of employees from Lower Silesia. Alongside our European hub in Berlin, it offers a strong presence from which to serve our European customers faster. Goodman was selected as our real estate partner because of its extensive experience in delivering quality logistics facilities for e-commerce and manufacturing.”

Goodman’s Regional Director for Central and Eastern Europe, Błażej Ciesielczak, commented: “Goodman has so far delivered over a quarter of a million square metres of tailor-made logistics space for the e-commerce sector in Poland and continues to expand its e-commerce footprint in the country. We continue to see strong demand from e-commerce firms on the Polish market, which confirms both the country’s attractiveness as a hub for e-commerce firms as well as Goodman’s expertise in delivering tailor-made logistics and production space for the e-commerce sector.”

Construction of the new warehouse started in October 2017 and completion is planned for late 2018.
