The National Centre of Indigenous Excellence (NCIE) is located at inner-city Redfern, Sydney, and provides benefits to young indigenous people through the provision of world class facilities and programs that provide excellence, energy and growth in the areas of sport, culture, art and learning.

The Centre was officially opened in February 2010 with a mission to build a brighter future for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians by cultivating talent and creating opportunities.

The Goodman Foundation is providing funding to assist in the establishment of the NCIE Homework Centre, which provides for:

  • A project co-ordinator
  • Educational resources
  • Administration of a volunteer program
  • Healthy after-school snacks for participants
  • Subsidised gym membership
