Goodman, a global leader in the ownership, development and management of industrial real estate, has signed a new deal with Cdiscount, France's leading ecommerce company. Goodman is developing a nearly 40,000 sqm fulfilment centre in Saint-Mard, near Paris. On completion in the fourth quarter of 2015, Goodman will manage nearly 250,000 sqm of ecommerce logistics space in France.
This new logistics solution will bolster Cdiscount's logistics network, which is crucial to competitiveness in the ecommerce sector. The new development is schedule for completion in October 2015.
Prior to signing the pre-lease agreement, Goodman obtained the building and user permits allowing construction to start just two weeks after the deal was signed. The new facility will feature more than 39,000 sqm of logistics space equipped with energy efficient T5 lighting and one dock door per 700 sqm, which is above market standard specifications. To coordinate operations, the building will also have a 500 sqm office outfitted with LED lighting.
The Goodman Sain-Mard Logistics centre is strategically located only nine kilometres from Charles De Gaulle Airport and 30 kilometres from the centre of Paris. The logistics centre offers direct access to the N2, which connects with the A104 outer ring road. Goodman has obtained the building and user permits to develop two additional logistics properties of 12,000 sqm and 24,000 sqm respectively.
